UK and Czech Republic refuse to sign EU fiscal pact

Yet another EU summit
More money wasted
More division
The UK became isolated in Europe when David Cameron refused to sign a treaty in December 2011. Today he is slightly less isolated. Other countries were considering not signing but in the end they all towed the EU line. That is all except for the UK and the Czech Republic.
In spite of this, today's summit appeared to want to show a cordial and united front. Division does not bode well with the markets. The slightest sniff of division and the markets plummet. Hence today those EU leaders meeting acted as adults all trying to work together.
David Cameron's belligerent stance in the EU has done nothing to harm his standing back home. His resounding NO in December 2011 resulted in a surge in his popularity. Euro skeptics in the UK will be looking for signs that his resolve has weakened.
Trade Unions in Belgian made a protest today to the leaders attending the summit. As airports and public transport was hit the Unions message was start moving away from austerity measures and start boosting growth and employment. A message we all support. Currently austerity measures may appeal to EU leaders but they are crippling people.
25 of the 27 EU countries have signed up.
