U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry made an unannounced visit to Iraq Sunday, attempting to set the scene for the final days of Syrian leader Assad. The west is determined to oust Assad, one of Iran's last supporters. Kerry's mission is to coerce, if he can, the Iraqi government to halt flights in Iraqi air space, by Iranian flights allegedly supplying arms to the Syrian regime. Iran claims the flights carry humanitarian aid.

The wests' Syrian agenda is complicated. Whilst there is no doubt that a huge humanitarian crisis is unfolding in Syria the reasons are debatable. Not once has the west laid blame for the crisis at the door of the rebels. On the contrary we now choose to recognise those people as the legitimate opposition in Syria.

Rebels and terrorists if they were in Palestine or Israel but the legitimate opposition as they are in Syria and helping our broader mission.

Even President Obama's visit to Palestine and Israel this week was deceptive. Israel's Netanyahou apologised to Turkey for the murder of those on board a rescue folitilla to Gaza in 2009 but it is doubtful he did so voluntarily. No, POTUS forced his arm. Israel fears Iran and needs its ally Syria suppressed. Also this week the Syrian opposition elected an American citizen as its formal leader. Yes America is working towards the end game for Assad.

It cannot be said an end to the Syrian crisis though as, if and when Assad is ousted, the Syrian people will have a long struggle for peace. The west  will have completed part of their mission though in securing Israel and starting to tackle the problem of Iran. Syria will be destabilsed but no threat to the U.S.A and Israel. Iran will be isolated.

Perhaps western leadfers should consider what mad dogs do when backed into a corner. They bite. Currently many leaders are barking but when the biting begins we should be very worried. Backing Iran into a corner could trigger an attack.

Western hypocrisy continues to increase.

Playing those mind games, Ethel Smith June 26, 2012

Is it just me or do readers often feel that they are living in a work of fiction? Currently something between the impending doom of The Titanic or an increasingly far fetched science fiction tale seem to lead the field?

What with economic doom and gloom becoming daily words it is a pessimistic period in many people'e lives. All that they may or may not have valued, under threat. Homes, possessions, the family unit, money, World Peace and the environment. None of these are safe any more.

One thing under threat, that until lately most of us in the West took for granted, is freedom. That loose word which encompasses so much. Freedom online, free speech, freedom of movement, the freedom to spend what you want where you want, and more. Little by little most of us are having our freedoms restricted. Some of the changes are blatant but many are underhand. Tiny so that, in the words of Joni Mitchell, you may not realise what you have lost until it has gone.

In the last two days former US President Jimmy Carter has voiced his concerns regarding the US record on human rights, or rather the lack of them.

You can of course argue that we have never been truly free. For most people modern day living has some restrictions such as work, school, how you behave and where you can go. You may feel that the world has in effect become smaller and that you can travel where you want when you want. Lose that magic document, your passport, though and see just how far you get.

The authorities however right now want to edge that bit further into an Orwellian Novel. Big Brother will be watching you. In the UK a heavy presence of CCTV means that most people's moves are monitored frequently. You can blame this on the mindless hooligans who trawl UK streets but excessive CCTV is a good tool for the authorities also.

Our current coalition government is hoping to extend snooping online in the UK under the premise of fighting crime, terrorism and pornography. Such law breakers will simply find another way. The changes will remain in force though and it will be the law abiding citizens of the UK whose freedoms will have been restricted.

As we face the threat of global war, global economic crisis and hell on earth we are being pushed this way and that.

The propaganda machine of each country and each political party is nothing new. It is however becoming increasingly difficult to sort the "wheat from the chaff". Just what is actually happening can be hard to determine. There are so many news sources these days and many are far from independent. Mainstream news also favours one way or another.

Take the 2012 US Election.

Articles online for instance manipulate the voter and certain situations. The way that President Obama and Mitt Romney are portrayed will be crucial in the election. Both have backers pulling strings. Both put forward an electable persona. Will it end up, as in the UK, where US voters simply opt for who they believe is the lesser of the evils? Many people vote this way now having little definite faith in either side.

Netanyahu has decided to attack Iran before the US November 2012 elections, by Micheal Carmichael
The absurdity of NATO

Both of the above articles make for worrying reading. Both tell a tale but how much is the truth and nothing but the truth? The first details how Mitt Romney backer Sheldon Adelson also backs Netanyahu of Israel. He claims that an early attack on Iran by Israel will help Romney in the polls and also help defeat Obama. People often do not see the wider picture but simply the narrow one portrayed by mainstream media sources and vote accordingly.

The second article asks if we are looking at an imminent Third World war. Sadly many of us believe that we are. The conditions such as civil unrest, a collapsing banking system, nationalism, multiple small skirmishes, over population and more could be seen as war predictors.

So much in this world is about perceptions. We observe in different ways and then decide our viewpoint whilst outside sources attempt to manipulate what we believe. US voters have a tough task ahead, unless they are hard line Democrats or Republicans. A lot is happening right now and this is set to escalate before November 2012.

What will impact on the result of the US election though is up to the voters.

Cartoon dates back to July 2010, before the Arab Spring.
More sanctions have been imposed on Iran today in an effort to curtail its nuclear program. Recently scientists working on Iran's nuclear power efforts have been killed in explosions. No organisation has admitted responsibility but it is widely believed that it was either Israel, the US or both countries that were responsible. Many in the West are adamant that Iran should not develop any form of nuclear energy. Iran maintain their quest is simply for nuclear power whilst the West is sure it is for nuclear bomb capabilities. As the situation stands today, January 22, 2012, it seems we are on a course which may lead to war.

The West as usual is all hypocrisy. Most if not all western nations have nuclear energy and nuclear weapons. There argument seems to be a fear that Iran would launch a weapon on Israel on its enemies. Israel it may be worth pointing out reciprocates these feelings against Iran. It is fair to say that there is no love lost between the two countries.

The latest round of sanctions are designed to hit Iran's trade in oil. Strange, isn't it, that this should all kick off now after the Arab Spring of 2011 brought about Middle Eastern change? It makes on wonder if Libyan leaders, for example, were correct when they insisted that the West was behind the revolution in Libya. With Middle Eastern oil supplies being rich in countries such as Libya it does all seem too far fetched to be a coincidence.

In the UK today Foreign Secretary William Hague said he hoped that Iran would "come to its senses". He went on to say, "Iran continues to defy UN security council resolutions and enriches uranium to 20 per cent at con, for which there is no plausible civilian explanation." So I think it is very important for us to agree these measures today to increase the peaceful, legitimate pressure on the Iranian government."
His words come as  Britain, America and France send  six warships led by a 100,000 ton aircraft carrier through the Strait of Hormuz. Iran has reiterated that is hefty sanctions are imposed they will close the Strait to western oil tankers. Of course Britain, America and France are not the World. They may think that they are but only time will tell as far as support goes.In the last few minutes EU ministers has agreed to adopt the Iran oil embargo.  This will mean an immediate ban on all new oil contracts with Iran, but existing contracts will be honoured until 1 July. You may read that as you like. I take it to read that a - they are hoping Iran will give in or b - they do not want to lose any oil or money themselves. I wonder what they will do if Iran reciprocates by saying it will ban all including existing contracts?

In spite of other oil supplies though an embargo on Iranian oil will hit the West as far as pricing goes. Anything which appears to threaten oil supplies in any way is bound to push the price of oil up. No wonder the West has been vying to get their hands on Libyan oil.

At the heart of the problem is Israel. The fact that Israel apparently fears Iran will instantly launch an attack on them if they manage to nuclear weapons. Now we are back to good old hypocrisy. As far as the World knows Israel has nuclear weapons  It too plays a secretive game though and this has never been confirmed. A tweet today read something like, "why not impose sanctions on France for helping Israel develop its nuclear weapons".

In the past France has carried out many underwater nuclear bomb tests, usually in the Pacific Ocean. How dare they. It is not known if Israel has carried out any such tests.
Israel has refused to sign the NPT, Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty. It shares this claim to fame with Pakistan, North Korea and India. According to Wikipedia, Israel  has 75 and 400 nuclear warheads with the ability to deliver them by intercontinental ballistic missile, aircraft, and submarine.Whilst some may choose to read this report as an attack on Israel it is far from it. It is an attack on hypocrisy. Once again we are trying to make countries follow an outdated adage our parents tried on us. That is " Do as I say not as I do". Sadly this will not wash any more. Iran could pose a real threat to World peace, especially if the West continues on its current path. Then again so could North Korea. Where are we drawing the line, and why?
