It is only a short time since France was rocked by a serial killer leaving a trail of death and it is probably fair to say that people are still recovering from those events. Today Good Friday, 2012, French people are wondering if another such killer is on the loose.

A 48-year-old mother, named by the French media as Nadjia Lahsene, has been shot dead outside of her home in Grigny. She was killed yesterday, April 5, 2012. Ms Lahsene, was a woman of Algerian origin. She was killed in the foyer of her apartment block. The area where she was killed is a suburb of the French capital Paris. She was killed in a motorbike drive by shooting, in much the same way as the recent other victims were killed.

Mohammed Merah.was the alleged serial killer responsible for the murder of seven people, including children. He was killed after being holed up in his home during a police siege. Today it has been reported that several more murders could be laid at the door of the killer of Nadjia Lahsene. It does of course leave people wondering if Merah were in truth responsible for the other murders.

If he was then just how many more serial killers could be out there? The murders which Merah was accused of committing were reportedly carried out because of extreme Islamist views and misguided reprisals. RIP. .

On March 19, 2012, a drive by gunman in Toulose France killed three children and one adult outside of a Jewish School. It turned out that the same man had been responsible for the  previous murders of  French soldiers. In all Mohammed Merah allegedly killed seven people. A siege of the man's home followed. Finally this siege ended with a dramatic shoot out by Merah and his death.

Mohammed Merah, the alleged gunman, filmed the shootings as they happened. Today, March 27, 2012, it has been revealed that images of the murders were sent to al-Jazeera in Paris.

Images of the shootings accompanied by readings from the Koran were held on a computer stick. French President Nicolas Sarkozy added his voice to those asking that al-Jazeera did not publish the footage.

Deciding not to publish al-Jazeera said,  "The Paris bureau received a video from an anonymous source [on Monday] entitled Al-Qaeda Attaque la France [Al-Qaeda Attacks France] that appears to show the recent killings in Toulouse and Montauban. "Given its contents, we immediately passed the video on to the French police as we were duty-bound to do and they are conducting their investigation.  "In accordance with al-Jazeera's code of ethics, given the video does not add any information that is not already in the public domain, its news channels will not be broadcasting any of its contents."

They passed the evidence to French police and left it at that. The police have said that the forwarding of this footage to al-jazeera could indicate that Merah did not act alone. An accomplice or accomplices could still be out there. The package appears to have been sent on March 21. This was the day that the siege of Merah's home began therefore it is possible that Merah was not acting alone.
