A bus travelling in the Atlas mountains, between the popular tourist city of Marrakesh and Ouarzazate,has crashed killing at least 42 people. Another 25 are injured.

The bus was reportedly overcrowded. This is so often the case in busy tourist areas of countries like Morocco. The coach plunged 500 foot down a ravine and the accident has been declared the worst such crash in the history of the Country. The nations' King Mohammed VI has said that he will pay for all funeral, transport and burial costs.

At time of writing it is believed that all the passengers were local Moroccan people. There may have been some tourists on board but that remains to be seen.

The tragic accident happened 60 miles south of Marrakesh.and the injured have been sent to various hospitals across the area. According to the authorities the coach was carrying 13 passengers more that its limit. The cause of the accident has not yet been determined.

The Morrocan transport service has a bad accident record. The country is used to news of accidents involving deaths and injuries. This latest accident though surpasses all previous ones. RIP
