Ned Kelly was an Australian outlaw. As is so often the case with bad men of the past, he is a legendary hero to some. To others he was just a rogue.
On November 11, 1880, Ned Kelly was hanged. His dying wrods were reportedly "such is life". His remains were never seen again, That is until recently when the advance of science meant that identification was possible.

Kelly's remains, along with others, was exhumed from an old prsion in 2009. DNA evidence has been checked against a living relative of the outlaw, a schoolteacher from Melbourne. The teacher is the grandson of Kelly's sister. Kelly's father was a convict transported to Australia, so a teacher is a huge step in the right direction for the Kelly family.
Ned Kelly remains a popular historical Australian figure. He was famous, or perhaps that should be infamous, for wearing roughly constructed armour.
Family members are to be consulted over what to do with his earthly remains. A very belated RIP then.
