Early today, October 23, 2011, the Occupy Chicago protest movement had a stand off with local police. They refused to move on and in the end around 100 protesters were arrested.

Those arrested allowed themselves to be peacefully led away.

If authorities around the world thought this seemingly disorganised movement would soon fizzle out it seems they were wrong.

The reason givenm for the request to move on and subsequent arrests was that Chicago's Grant Park, in the area known as Congress Plaza, where the OC protesters had set up camp, closes at 11pm.

The arrests in Chicago are not the first. Around 175 people who have also tried to prtest from this area have been arrested. The protest organisers said, "protests will continue over perceived greed and other ills in corporate America and on Wall Street". In Terminator style they chanted ""We will be back!"
