Eight arrests today included a police officer, a serving member of the Armed Forces, a female Ministry of Defence employee, and five Sun journalists. They have been arrested in connection with claims of illegal payments to police and public officials.
In what has become normal practice the names of the journalists have been revealed. The others have not. Arrests in the past, that included a police officer and journalists, followed a similar path. Either name them all or name none of them. It should not be trial by the media and all should be innocent until proven guilty.

Operation Weeting and Operation Elveden are both ongoing in the UK. They are costly investigations both of which are a result of the phone hacking scandal. In the end will any of those accused be brought to justice? That is the crux of the matter.
