Protesters in Russia have taken to the streets once more. The protest held in Moscow soon became heated resulting in violent clashes. There are reports that protesters were beaten back by the police, after they had attempted to charge at the authorities.

Holding crash barriers protesters pushed forward but were soon beaten back. Many have been hauled off to an uncertain fate. Amongst those arrested there were opposition leaders. Alexei Navalny, Boris Nemtsov and Sergei Udaltsov were arrested after the group of protesters tried to gain access to a bridge which would have helped them closer access to the Kremlin.

People are unhappy with increasing prices in Russia, inflation and in general with President Putin. Considering Russia's revolutionary past you would think that the authorities there would have learned their lesson. It may take time but suppress the people and sooner or later they will rise up.
