There is a little good news tonight regarding Bee Gee Robin Gibb. Last weekend Robin who is suffering from liver and colon cancer was reported to have slipped into a coma. Today he has been able to communicate with his family.

Loved ones have been holding a vigil at Robin's bedside and it looks now as if they have been rewarded with an improvement in his condition.

62-year-old Robin is a patient at a hospital in Chelsea, London. The Telegraph reported that Mr Gibb's relatives, including wife Dwina, daughter Melissa, 37, and sons Spencer, 39, and Robin-John, 29, have been singing to him, with Mrs Gibb revealing he had cried when she played him the song Cry Robin Gibb, cancer, loved ones, out of coma, Bee Geesing by Roy Orbison. Mr Gibb had surgery on his bowel 18 months ago for an unrelated condition but a tumour was discovered and he was diagnosed with cancer of the colon and, subsequently, of the liver.

Best wishes are sent to Mr Gibb and his family.

Robin Gibb was diagnosed with colon and liver cancer. He appeared to be well on the road to remission and the prognosis seemed favourable. Today, April 14, 2012, it has been announced that he is in a coma. His family are at his bedside and doctors fear he may only have days to live. 62-year-old Robin became famous as a member of the singing family the Bee Gees.

Always a slim guy recent appearances have shown Robin as gaunt, pale and skinny. Through his illness Robin has maintained a positive outlook and a determination to beat the odds. The latest reports claim that he may have a second tumour and has also developed pneumonia.

The Bee Gees rose to global fame during a career that rose, fell and rose again. With a clear tuneful voice Robin captured many hearts. Poignant at times his voice and his brothers worked as one. Sadly Maurice Gibb died a few years ago. The Bee Gee music lives on. Thoughts go the family and Robin.
