Six -year-old Thusha was caught in cross fire during a gangland gun crime in 2011, in Stockwell, South London. On April 19 the men found guilty of the shooting are due to be sentenced. Thusha suffered injuries which have left her in a wheelchair.
The little girl was dancing in the aisles of a relatives shop, in front of her parents, when the attack happened. Footage of the incident as it happened was recorded on the store's CCTV. It was shocking to see such a tiny innocent victim of a gangland gun crime.
This weekend Thusha has had, what she has said, has been, her best Easter ever. The MailOnline reported that on Good Friday, "Thusha went on a visit to a petting zoo which was a milestone in the six-year-old’s attempt to live a normal life after she was left paralysed from the waist down when a gunman opened fire into her uncle’s convenience store in March last year" Images of the little girl having fun along with her siblings make for a heartwarming Easter story.
The nation was both shocked and moved by the shooting of Thusha and her road to recovery. A week ago it was reported that her parents were still praying for a miracle. This was why they had not told Thusha that her dreams of being a dancer may not come to fruition. Paralysed currently and in a wheelchair, her parents continue to hope that Thusha will walk again. Since that was made public last week "donations to the Thusha Appeal Fund, launched by officers from the Metropolitan Police, have risen to more than £100,000."
