One queue to vote
Tunisia is the first Arab Spring country to hold elections. 2011 experienced many middle eastern countries revolting against their non-elected leaders. This is where the term Arab Spring originates. All of the countries involved in political take-overs have had a long and hard path to follow.
For Tunisia a step nearer to long term peace in their country has been taken. That is a general election has been held.
Today early indications show that the Islamist Ennahda Party has taken an early lead in the polls.

Official results will not be revealed until later today, Monday October 24, 2011, or possibly even tomorrow. The election was widely supported by Tunisians with what would be a huge turn-out in, for example, a UK election. Of course voting is new to Tunisians and they fought hard to gain the right to vote.
90% of the 4.1 million registerd to vote participated in the Tunisian polls. Stringent methods were used in order to ensure that the vote was fair and not rigged in any way.
How the West and other countries will react if a predominantly Islamic government is elected to govern Tunisia remains to be seen. If it is what the people want, it should be what the world wants. It will not be though.
