St Trinian School comedy films have amused audiences for years. They are even making fresh new versions of the old comedy classics once more. The films though were based on the drawings of UK cartoonist Ronald Searle.
Sadly he has died today aged 91. A great age when all is said and done. He was much loved though and his humour, talent and wit will be missed by many.
The St Trinian's girls had their first outings as spindly characters in Searle cartoons of 1941. They caught the imagination of audiences and the first St Trinian film, The Belles of St Trinian's, was released in 1954.
