Fergie and Mancini
Local Derby matches often prove to be fairly uninspiring. When two teams such as those from Manchester are taking part neither side usually wins with a magnificent lead. (They are also often "needle matches") Not so today as Manchester City ran rings around Man U.

So often in the past Man U have come from behind and secured a win in the dying moments of a game. Today Manchester City were still scoring goals in injury time.

Today was Manchester United's first home loss in 18 months. As manager Sir Alex chewed his gum faster and faster, till he looked set to break his jaw, who would have not wanted to be a fly on the dressing room wall when the game had ended?. Manchester United were anniihilated.

Man U player Evans was sent off shortly after the half-time break. Play resumed after the break and he was gone within a couple of minutes. This left Man U playing catch up. However, they can hardly blame it all on the send-off. They were already behind.

Manchester City has one of the most expensive teams ever assembled. Today they gave value for money, if you believe footballers are worth such high fees. A weary Alex Fergusson said after the match, "They were attacking three against two, it was crazy, crazy football. It was a bad day, no doubt about that. We will come back from that. I know by January we will be OK, we normally get our show on the road. I feel disappointed. I don't think I've ever lost a game 6-1 in my life. I've got great experience to handle it now."

On the other hand Manchester City's Roberto Mancini was over the moon. He said, "In the end there are three points, we don't take six points for this game." Mancini and the team though were jubilant. They now lead the Premier League.
