Egypt’s Parliament Set to Introduce ‘Farewell Intercourse’ Law

Egypt’s revolution of 2011 engaged many members of that society who wished to see an end to the Mubarak regime. Women as well as men brought about the ousting of the dictator and his senior cabinet.
Parliamentary elections were held and the Muslim Brotherhood has attained power. They are seeking to impose Sharia Law throughout the country. Coptic Christians have been targeted for abuse. The most recent proposal directly targets the women of the country. It seeks to make necrophilia legal but only if it’s with your dead wife. There are time limits imposed. Apparently it’s ok to engage in ‘farewell sex’ if the corpse is only six hours dead. There are no details about whether it’s still ok if she died from a beating(which is ok).
“Along with the rather grim “farewell Intercourse” draft law, parliament is also set to approve legislation that would allow girls as young as 14 to get married.
Lawmakers are also seeking to eliminate a reform implemented over a decade ago that allows women to end unhappy or abusive marriages without interference from their spouses.”RT News
The Arab Spring promised democracy and freedom for all members of society. Unfortunately it hasn’t worked out that way for most of those who risked their lives and livelihoods for social justice.
