Pay cuts

_Alan Hansen commentator on ' the BBC's Match of the Day' show has been asked to take a drop in his salary of £1.5million. He has agreed to this. The suggested drop would be about £500,000. Gary Lineker and Mark Lawrenson will also be asked to take a pay cut. Funded by the taxpayer the BBC is facing tough times.

All this is very agreeable to ordinary people in the UK but where the objection comes in is when the next minute we read that UK MPs are asking for a pay rise and they will no doubt get it. Apparently, they have already received a pay rise of 45 per cent during the last year or two. 45% of the minimum wage is still peanuts but of a politician's salary?

Before the revelation of another pay rise for politicians it was stated by the UK coalition government that their salaries would be frozen. Again contraction and not keeping their promise. We are  continuously reading and being told about the great financial crisis the UK is experiencing. There will have to be great savings made but it always seem to be by everyone else not the government.

Again billions of pounds are available for the EU, not including the bail-out economies of other countries. No, on top of it. Billions of bonuses can be taken by bankers who already have over £1billion in salaries. Billions are given to so-called under-developed-countries which would be no problem if it would it really reach the poor people who need it. No, it is again the government of the countries who keep it and use it for their own endst.

Surely the government of this country is aware of that but, again, they will not stop it. Today we are informed that David Cameron slowly but surely agrees to the EU new treaty. It was expected after the Prime Minister last year promised not pay any more into the EU bail-out fund then the next minute paid £18billion into the IMF.

Where is the difference?

It was expected after Cameron promised a referendum on exiting the EU and then came back from the EU summit meeting, stating that he did not sign the new EU treaty. With that the mention of holding a referendum was never heard of. Then we heard George Osborne, the Chancellor, slowly mentioning that the Prime Minister might think it would be a good idea to sign the new treaty but will object to some points.

Now, it looks as if he will sign it and Britain's rights and interests are going to be governed by Brussels. It wouldn't be surprising if this Prime Minister also agrees to change the currency to the Euro.

They aught to be ashamed not be more proud of being British and care more about Britain. If that is what the education of Eton, Oxford, Harrow and Cambridge does it should be closed down.
