It seems that China is now breeding and starving tigers to death in a kind of battery operation. The reason for this unimaginable cruelty is to make £130 bottles of wine from their crushed bones. Furthermore, I like to point out who are these people who will be able to pay £130 for a bottle of wine.
There is only one answer.
The top who cream off money at banks and the City. The same people who tell us to tighten our belts and are forever cutting wages. In a report by David Shepherd, of the wildlife's Foundation Tiger, currently at least 11 tigers have died these agonising deaths.
David Shepherd, who is also the world famous wild life artist, stated that China did ban the trade in tiger bone wine back in 1993. However, farmers maintain the tigers died naturally in starving them to death. How cruel.
The campaign Tiger Time will now press China to ban all trade in tiger products. They are running a petition on at www.bantigertrade.com for people to sign up.
It is believed that around 6,000 tigers are held in tiger farms. This would be twice as many as in the wild. For the farmers it is a very worthwhile trade, to say the least, but at what a terrible price. They would get £25,000 for a tiger skin, £130 for each bottle of wine and further payments for various body parts used in Chinese medicine means for them the choice is a no brainer. Again, it is worth noting that it can only be afforded by people who have wealth. The sort of money which is got the wrong way, for example by too high salaries and huge bonuses.
When people protest, like OCCUPY, almost straight away a law is established which will make it illegal. A recent one in the UK was rushed through with such speed that the judge must have felt giddy from the moment he arrived at the court. Pity no-one is incensed enough to save these Tigers. Terrible news.
