A personal view

This is the most sickening and diabolical plan ever to come out of this UK government. From a leaked memo it was revealed that now twice the number of soldiers will be made redundant. This from the start is so unspeakable one cannot find the right word to be put. These men showed nothing but loyalty and fought in wars like Iraq and Afghanistan which had nothing to do with England. Also those wars were illegal. Now these wars are dying down and the military come home to be given notice. Some of course are still out there

_As if that is not insult enough the number planned to be sacked also includes injured service men. This fact is the lowest of the lowest decision coming from David Cameron and his lot. David Cameron does not need to hide behind as the decision was made by the Ministry of Defense. But, he is the Prime Minister and has or should have the final say. This is absolutely disgraceful. To crown it all being revealed at the time when the country remembers the fallen soldiers. IF THAT DOESN'T SHOW WHAT DAVID CAMERON AND HIS SO CALLED GOVERNMENT IS LIKE NOTHING ELSE WILL.

The memo was sent to senior military commanders in Afghanistan. It showed that it was decided by the MoD to make twice the number of servicemen redundant as previously planned. Now the number which has been planned is 16,500 included injured.   WHAT MUST THE IMPACT ON THESE SOLDIERS BE LIKE, ESPECIALLY ON THE INJURED? WE WILL NEVER KNOW.   At the same time the Prime Minister issued a """promise""" that war veterans  would jump ahead on the housing queue for a mortgage or council house. A further comment from David Cameron was that his Government would "strain every sinew" to help soldiers and their families. Ahhh isn't that nice after he has broken these men and women. He loves giving out promises, doesn't he? It must make him feel good. Just like a peacock flashing his feathers.

The facts are that an Army private is earning on average £17,265 after training.  Therefore, what mortgage would they get? The other point is, which is also disgusting, when they are  fighting abroad they do not keep their connection with the town hall chiefs and therefore they will be sliding down the ladder when it comes to the allocation of council houses.

This rule is not only insulting but gives other,s not so deserving priority. Yet, these men or women are out there fighting for theirs country and risking his life and limbs.    THIS POINT NEEDS A HELL OF A SHAKE-UP BUT WILL IT BE DONE? I THOROUGHLY HOPE SO BUT I DOUBT IT.

A father wept bitterly but he pleaded with the military court Judge, Emma Peters, not to punish the 24-year-old Sean Barry.

Sean was David Dalzell's, 20, best friend. The pair came back from a cruel patrol at 5 am. Sean checked his weapon and his gun went off accidentally. It killed David Dalzell. David's father, Gordon, begged the court not to lock-up Sean because, as he pointed out. in his opinion it was an accident, and reasoned it would not do anybody any good.

It would not bring back his son.

Gordon pointed out further that Sean told all his family about their close friendship during the training and in Afghanistan. He would like Sean to carry on with his career. To him that would be a lasting memory of their son, David. The witness Lieutenant Colonel Charlie Barnett stated at the hearing in Colchester, Essex, that they just returned from a five-hour patrol carrying 85lbs of kit. He assured the court that Ranger Barry did not do it on purpose. He did the drill on his rifle as usual but simply forgot the loaded magazine.

This case also gives us a insight into what these men have to go through.

Barry, 1st Battalion The Royal Irish Regiment, ultimately received a six-month suspended jail sentence. Even the Judge Advocate Peters' voice broke when she addressed Gordon and Susan:  "Thank you for your compassion and Christianity today."

The parents of David Dalzell have six other children.  RIP and condolences
