With ten days left before the South Carolina primary of 2012 the candidates campaigns are hotting up. Expensive ad campaigns being run by the candidates must be making some people big money. The TV ads are becoming increasingly vitriolic and hard hitting. Presumably desperate times need desperate measures.

Newt Gingrich's ads which target Mitt Romney may not be the only critical ads out there but they are perhaps the ones receiving the most publicity. The latest one draws on comparisons between a previously failed Republican candidate, John Kerry, and Mitt Romney. It latches into the fact that Kerry and Romney both seemed to speak fluent French. Thus the French Connection.
