Whilst each resignation should help sort the field for an outright winner the GOP race is far from over. Today there have been more than a few problems.
It seems that Mitt Romney's close win in Iowa was not even that in reality. With some missing data a tie has been declared between Rick Santorum and Mitt Romney. If they want to play fair they should start the whole procedure again. After all, the initial Iowa declaration must have had an impact on how New Hampshire voted. Apparently the final count did show Santorum as the winner but too many votes were missing to show a conclusive victory. Both men have claimed it was a victory for them and their campaign.
As if another resignation and missing data was not enough a kiss and tell interview with Newt Gingrich's former wife is due to be aired tonight. The same night that the remaining four candidates go head to head again in yet another political debate. Now that Perry has left, and endorsed Newt, tonight's debate could make for lively viewing. He was on the ball on Monday and he will be looking to capitalise on his sudden resurgence of popularity.
The TV interview with his ex wife Marianne may prove embarrassing but it can hardly include any revelations. Most people seem to be well aware of Newt's "lifestyle" His current wife Calista, who was his mistress when he was married to Marianne, is also expected to make a public appearance. She will be trying to provide a damage limitations exercise. However people are not stupid, or are they? Sometimes when you look at who we elect, when there are millions of people in the World, it makes you wonder if we are total idiots.
