Today Israel forces have left Gaza. They have left a crippled country to lick its wounds which are critical. Buildings, residential and more, have been destroyed; families torn apart; in some cases a child is the only survivor from a ten or more. Parents, siblings, uncles nieces and more; some families have paid a huge price.

Having left Gaza though, Israel will still be able to shell from afar. Maybe it is waiting for more munitions to arrive from its main supporter the USA?
Israel obscenely continues to blame Hamas but it is time it took responsibility. It is like Hitler blaming the Jews for the holocaust.
Perhaps what is also different this week is that Israel has lost its PR game. Few people believe the spin and words of Israeli officials anymore.
Did Israel pull out after stern words from elsewhere? Maybe. Their claim that it is because all the tunnels have been destroyed has no weight behind it. That old chestnut has been around too long.
Finally like all right-minded people we hope the immediate suffering of the people of Gaza has ended. They still face weeks or months or restoration; they are still held like prisoners in a huge open-air concentration camp. Now the work to broker a deal which will lead to a lasting peace begins.
That means the crisis is not yet ended.
For those wanting to make a stand against Israel join the #BoycottIsrael Brigade.
"It differs from country to country, but the most common Israeli exports include:
- fresh fruit and vegetables such as Jaffa citrus fruits and Israeli Medjoul Dates
- Ahava cosmetics
- SodaStream drinks machines
- Eden Springs bottled water
- Golan Heights Wineries and other Israeli wines
There are many international companies that are complicit in Israeli violations of international law. Examples include HP, Caterpillar, Volvo, Hyundai, among many others".
Many people have Internet access with them wherever they are, so checking out which products to boycott should be relatively easy.
It may take a little time to check out what you can or cannot buy if you join the #BoycottIsrael movement but it is worth the effort and satisfying to know that you too are meting out your revenge. It is less cruel than Israeli revenge but it will still have an impact.
