5-year-old April Jones has been missing from home since around 7pm on Monday October 1, 2012. April is a tiny framed child and it has been revealed recently that she suffers from Cerebal Palsy. Her condition means that medication is long over due.
Since April vanished her Mother has made an emotional appeal on TV and people from far and wide have helped the search. Now that it is Thursday her continued disappearance is a great cause for concern.
In a fairly unusual step the police have named and identified a local man who has been arrested. He has not been charged yet. The authorities have successfully requested more time to question 46-year-old Mark Bridger but time is running out. They have until 5pm Friday October 5.
Police usually shy away from naming a suspect at this stage of an inquiry as it can jeopardise the chance of a conviction. However discovering the location of April is their priority right now and they are trying all the means they have available to do so
April lives in an area of rural Wales with a fairly small population. This means that most people know each other. Mark Bridger knew April through his own children. Just how he became the "prime suspect" is not know.n.
Police teams are continuing their searches. They are examining Mark's previous place of work and home. Another priority is keeping the plight of April and her family alive and in people's minds. Once the story slips into just another news story finding April will be even more difficult.

The weather in the area where April went missing has not been good. Heavy rain has hampered search efforts. Nights are becoming cold as Autumn sets in. Thoughts, hopes and prayers go the family of April.
Friday October 5, 2012, Mark Bridger will need to be charged or released by 5pm tonight. The Police can request a 24 hour extension if necessary. In spite of heavy rain the emergency services have continued their search during the night. Rural areas close to a river were one of the areas searched. Local people continue to offer what hep they can. Time is now of the essence. 5-year-old April has been missing now for more than 31/2 days.
