A huge manhunt has been underway is Watertown, Boston, since the early hours of today. Two men believed to be the perpetrators of Monday's Boston marathon bombing, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, and Tamerlan Tsarnaev, were involved in a robbery, and stole a car, resulting in a chain of events. The two men, brothers Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, 19, and Tamerlan Tsarnaev, 26 have lived in the USA for more than ten years. The eldest brother died from injuries early Friday and the hunt is on for Dzhokhar.
Conspiracy theories have been voiced this week and today ABC news reports the brothers' father, Anzor Tsarnaev, believes the men are innocent and have been set up. According to ABC news he appealed to his son to give up peacefully, ""Give up. Give up. You have a bright future ahead of you. Come home to Russia," the dad said. The father warned, however, "If they killed him, then all hell would break loose."
"If they kill my second child, I will know that it is an inside job, a hit job. The police are to blame," the father told ABC News. "Someone, some organization is out to get them." Anzor Tsarnaev said that his sons were "set up" and that they are "very nice kids" who have no experience with weapons and explosives".
An uncle of the brothers has appealed to Dzhokhar to give himself up to the authorities. Throughout today there have been reports that a controlled explosion is imminent. Is it at the home of the two men? Dzhokhar could of course already be dead, perhaps at his own hand.
Ultimately Dzhokhar was captured, alive but injured. His mother has joined their father in claiming here boys have been "set-up". Sky News reports "The mother of the two men believed to be responsible for the Boston marathon bombings says they are the victims of a conspiracy".
Well stranger things have happened.
