America has Rush Limbaugh but the UK has Katie Hopkins. What do they have in common? The similarity is both are right-wing and both have big mouths.
Hopkins has made a name for herself, gaining celebrity status, for her forthright comments. You could say she has made her name being rude and offensive.
A contestant on the Apprentice some time ago she forged a celebrity career out of nothing. No talent, nothing, but a bitchy retort and a 'could not give a poop' attitude.
Take events this week in Ferguson in the USA.
A Grand Jury decided that the police officer who shot and killed unarmed black teenager Michael Brown, 18, would not face any charges. People in Ferguson and other part of the USA expected such a decision as much as the authorities expected the violent reaction to the news.
The officer, Darren Wilson, 28, fired six shots into Michael Brown and today he appeared in a TV interview rubbing salt into the wounds of Brown's family and supporters.
Wilson insisted his conscience is clear and all he did was his job.
As expected Katie had a controversial opinion on the murder of Brown.
One report claims "Katie Hopkins Thinks The Feguson Officer Who Shot Michael Brown Should Get "A Medal."
Hopkins shared her thoughts on the killing with her 263,000 followers on Twitter ruffling many feathers along the way.
She weighed into the debate as #Ferguson trended on Twitter commenting "Brown was not shot for being black. Brown was shot for being a thief and a thug.”
Even her followers, which include a fair few bubble-heads, were shocked.
She closed the comment with "Give the officer a medal. Justice with knobs on."
As Twitter followers tried to make her see how off the mark her comments were one posted “You've missed the point, they let James Holmes live after murdering 12 people. Yet they shoot unarmed black children/teens.” Opinion: Other celebrities, real ones, posted more supportive messages to the people of Ferguson asking for calm and peace.
Acid tongue Hopkins appears to get off or get rich by being as antagonistic as possible. She has previously crossed words with and offended Katie Perry, Lily Allen, the late Peaches Geldof and Kelly Osborne.
Katie has strong political ambitions and in some ways models herself on the late Margaret Thatcher. Thatcher was a bitch too.
