Western diplomats continue to use every tool available but the Crimea and Russia look to be singing to a different tune -- a separatist one.
As the main players the US and Russia stand toe to toe something will have to give, especially if we want to avert war.

Diplomacy continues but, as for the Crimea, perhaps it will now go its own way, assuming the EU and western leaders let it.
