At this stage you have to wonder how many horses will be killed as a result of today's race.
Sea Bass the favourite was still racing but the rest of the field was a mess. As is so often the case a rider less horse led the field.Having not watched the Grand National for some years this blogger was shocked at the race. The falls continued at the chair and further jumps.
There was still 10 jumps to go and very few still racing. More falls at the second attempt at Beecher's Brook. Of the 40 horses so few completed the race. Finally thankfully the final fence was reached and a photo finish was the result. After giving their all the front running horses tasted what IMHO was an excessive taste of the whip. The final result was Neptune Collonges, Sunny Hill Boy, Sea Bass and fourth Cappa Bleu.
