Economies around the World are in trouble. That said all countries always have money for destruction. You can argue that a nuclear arsenal helps prevent conflict but sooner or later it will lead to a deadly conflict. One that could see the demise of the people of the World or irreversible damage to this beautiful place we call home, Earth. The West always takes the holier than though stand point. It follows the childhood adage of "do as I say not as I do". When some countries were new on the World stage that may have washed. It no longer does.
We already have a situation where countries with huge nuclear arsenals are trying to prevent Iran developing nuclear energy. In truth of course Iran may be secretly developing weapons. Why this is so different to Israel having a nuclear capability we do not know. Certainly some in Iran have already made it plain that they would like to wipe Israel of the face of the World. I am sure many in the West have aired similar views about other countries.
None of these words will justify Israel launching a pre-emptive attack on Iran. Again we play with words. What is a pre-emptive attack when it is launched by our allies, would be deemed a hostile attacks when launched by our enemies.
The USA has now signed a deal with South Korea which leaves North Korea feeling vulnerable. South Korea plans to triple the range of its missile system. The US has military bases in the region and beyond. The deal will enable South Korea to have weapons capable of reaching the whole of North Korea, along with parts of China and Japan
North Korean representatives have not pulled their verbal punches. In response to the latest South Korean US deal they said, "another conspiracy of the master and the stooge to push the situation on the Korean Peninsula to the extreme... and ignite a war".
The World is definitely looking a less safe place right now. War, be it localised or global, appears to be on the cards. How many times when economies have been crumbling in the past has War been the option taken?
Currently you have Syria, Turkey, Afghanistan, Iraq, Korea, Iran, Israel and the Middle East holding on to a fragile peace. Now what is the common denominator in all these countries? Why The Good Old USA. There is little wonder that many people outside of the US view that country as warmongers.
Both North and South Korea are now playing the word game. The North is insisting that it now has missiles capable of reaching US bases around the World and on US soil. South Korea plans to have the capability to strike North Korea in no time at all. It has long been known that US bases in foreign lands would inevitably drag many countries into a conflict they were involved in.
Isn't it time that we got our priorities right?
