No casualties have been reported but hundreds of people have been evacuated and 63 schools are closed for the day in Gaza City.
Yes Gaza is already in ruins.
Its people are a determined race but even they must have their limit?
No injuries from flooding are being reported yet but common sense tells you there will be some. With flooding comes death and disease unless the crisis is alleviated and fast.
By and large the world turned a blind eyes to scenes of brutality committed in Gaza by Israeli forces; the world also turned a deaf ear to pleas for help, humanitarian aid and an end to the war by the people of Gaza.
Now there is early flooding where is the Middle East Peace envoy Tony Blair, who is in the news again this week but as usual for all the wrong reasons?
At the height of the summer's hostilities we reported "Middle East Peace envoy Blair parties as Gaza burns."
The petition to revoke a Save the Children Award given to Blair by the American arm of the charity continues to garner signatures.
But maybe it is not too late for Blair to redeem himself. Perhaps at last he can help the people and children of Gaza and ease their suffering?
Footnote: If you are able offer what help you can to the people of Gaza plus make sure their plight hits headlines.
