Op-Ed: As the west continues its attempts to oust the Syrian leader Bashar Assad out of office, under claims of alleviating the humanitarian crisis in the country, the people of Syria must wonder what next. Their homes, businesses, schools, hospitals and more have all been hit hard. The death toll escalates daily, already in the tens of thousands, but there is no end in sight.
Perhaps people in the west would feel more comfortable if their governments became embroiled in Syria if they knew just who the opposition are and who is pulling their strings.
The last week or two has shown that our leaders lie easily. When whistle blower Edward Snowden began to reveal information they were quick to refute his claims, whilst attempting to blacken the man's good name and character. When they were unable to silence him in time, and more revelations hit the Internet, they back pedalled slightly but never held their hands up, nor confessed or apologised.
Instead they squirmed and tried to justify spying with the "T" word, terrorism. With an existing bad track record, the lies did not wash with any person except for the party faithful, the blinkered and the dumb. The evidence is out there in the form of secretive Bilderberg events and expensive G8 and G20 summits which cost a fortune and achieve little if anything. The so-called Elite are trying to retain their grip on the world, its gold reserves and its governments.
There have been so many lies spun about the Syrian civil war that it is hard to determine what is the truth. Gut instinct will have to play its part, as it is more trustworthy than the words of western politicians.
News Sunday confirms what a mess the west made when it interfered with the Libyan civil war. Gaddafi is long dead but the country remains in turmoil, widely abandoned by the west. After the well-done speeches ended, when the likes of Cameron and Sarkozy patted each other on the back, Libyans have been forgotten. Another middle eastern country which sooner or later will implode once more.
According to Russia Today unregulated weapons are flooding into Syria from Libya.
We have already reported on Benghazi-gate, an incident in which many people claimed the US embassy and its now dead ambassador were gun-running weapons for Syria. So if you are anxious about just who the rebels are in Syria, who is supplying them arms, and why, consider the latest RT report about weapons from Libya to Syria which begins:
“It is just the enthusiasm of the Libyan people helping the Syrians,” explained Fawzi Bukatef, a former revolutionary commander, who has recently been appointed as ambassador to Uganda, to the New York Times.
So the next time you hear or read the plight of the rebels in Syria, fighting Assad without proper weapons or that President Obama claims that the use of chemical weapons by Assad has crossed a red-line [a fact the UN maintains is still not proven] take a step back and consider, are you being manipulated?
A little over a week ago there were reports that the CIA would arm and train the rebels in Syria, offering echoes of their training program in Afghanistan, when Russia was the invading country. Those rebels ultimately became the Taliban and bit America where it hurt. So what makes America trust the Syrian rebels? You tell me. It is nonsense unless they have been spearheading the war from day one.
Those who have their own agenda for another war in the middle east and the removal of Assad from Syria care little about the humanitarian crisis or what is done for the people of Syria but are focused on completing their own agenda. That is if you let them.
