Today, November 27, 2011, the MoD has sadly announced that another UK soldier has been killed in Afghanistan. That brings the total killed for November to six and the overall death toll since hostilities began to 390.

Two British troops killed in Helmand, plus more deaths followed

Two British soldiers have been killed in the Helmand Province of Afghanistan. It has been a bloody week in that country and beyond. Those who who had thought that the Taliban had been firmly put in its place need to think again. A new generation of hate filled terrorists are set to create problems. The two soldiers from 3rd Battalion The Yorkshire Regiment were killed in what is often called a green on blue attack. More Here

6 US and 2 British soldiers killed in Afghanistan

It has been a bloody end to the week in Afghanistan. Yesterday, August 10, 2012, two British soldiers were killed in separate incidents. There were also reports that three American soldiers had been killed. The US soldiers were however killed by an Afghan policeman. He had invited them for a meal before blasting them when he opened fire.   More Here

Details of the UK soldier killed in Afghanistan on March 21, 2012, have been released to the media. 24-year-old Captain Rupert Bowers was a married man with a young son. Hugo Rupert's son was only born in February 2012.  read more here

Latest deaths in Afghanistan not from hostile action

The death toll for British soldiers serving in Afghanistan has risen by three in recent days. On Friday there were reports of two deaths and yesterday another. Each of these three deaths was not due to hostile action. 29-year-old Capt James Townley of the Corps of Royal Engineers died on Friday September 21, one day before his 30th birthday. More Here

Foreign troops are due to pull out of Afghanistan by 2014. There has already been an exodus of some foreign troops leaving those still in the country a difficult if not impossible task. As this week drew to an end there as sad news of yet another UK military death in Afghanistan. He has since been named as 22-year-old Michael Roland. British Forces News has reported: "The British soldier who died after being shot in Afghanistan has been named as Guardsman Michael Roland, 1st Battalion Grenadier Guards. He deployed to Afghanistan on 3rd April 2012 as a Rifleman in Number Three Platoon, part of The Queen’s Company Grenadier Guards >>>Read More Here>>>>
